The RSM Mainframer

If you need to know what’s what in the world of mainframes then this is the magazine for you!

RSM wanted to share some of their in depth mainframe knowledge and it was decided to develop a newsletter style magazine. Edited by Carolyn Wojtas, RSM Mainframer aims to help organisations by providing information on current issues and how best to tackle them. We all know that the mainframe is the backbone of IT - often forgotten but always essential.

We designed the magazine to reflect RSM’s continued mainframe knowledge - giving it a futuristic look as well as making it readable and visually pleasing.

Arctic Rolls

We were asked to create an eye catching poster for the Arctic Paper brand. What else but alpine skiing eh?

These lovely limited edition posters are printed on Arctic White and add a really nice feature to any bare wall.

Most people don’t know this, but paper is one of the most sustainable products used by man. It can be recycled 5-6 times and comes from totally sustainable forestry. After all, if you are a paper mill, why would you destroy your main source of income? Paper companies are responsible for planting more trees than any else…fact!

Arctic is but one brand available from Denmaur Paper, the specialists in sustainable paper.

If you want to see how we can help to promote your brand or product give is a call on 01332 291141 and we will be happy to help.

Who Let the Dogs Out..?!!

When Tara Worth decided to start a dog grooming business we were delighted to help her.
We created a simple but eye-catching brand for “A Mutt Above”. Using simple graphics this branding will ensure that Tara’s business becomes recognisable and approachable.

In addition to the logo we further developed this signage too - so if you have a dog that needs grooming, well - you know where to go!

Designer Furniture…

Maybe not quite designer, but these stools were decorated by Jonny at Ikea in Munich. On a recent trip abroad we were given the chance to design our own stools using a variety of materials. I decided to keep mine simple, as is my style…!!!

I was very happy with the final results too...

If you have any design creative you need, give its a call on 01332 291141 and we will be happy to offer you the best advice.

The DaVinci Code

Most of us are familiar with the genius of Leonardo DaVinci - his 15th century ideas for submarines, flying machines and the like are legendary.

However, I have not seen any lifesize realisations of his ideas.

Until now.

This amazing helicopter concept was devised in the 15th century and has many similarities with modern day 'coptors. The advent of the aerofoil wing being perhaps the only key difference.

Those of us who like design cannot help but be impressed with these sketches and to see one made into a life size model is impressive. Have you seen any DaVinci inspired designs recently, why not let us know and we can share the ideas.

Pastaman

On a recent trip to Malaga I snapped this clever poster, showing a graphic of a man with a pasta scarf and pocket handkerchief.

I wish we had thought of this...I love it...then again, we don't really have any clients who do food or food related products - I guess it could work with paper...

What could be simpler?

Buon Appetito!!!

Frequent Flyers

The Gatemaker offer a wide range of hand built gates as well as a complete metal refurbishing service.

They are proof that a company with a quality product, truly personal service and a traditional marketing approach can continue to be very successful.

PE Creative worked alongside the Gatemaker team to prepare these eyecatching A5 size four page flyers. By developing two kinds at the same time we helped them to save money too. One flyer is aimed at refurbsihing, whilst the other at new gate installations. We utilised some of thier own photography alongside a styish graphical approach to deliver a low cost yet practical solution to thier needs.

The flyers will be maildropped to prospects as well as being left at prominent locations around the region.

If you need some sales literature, then give us a call on 01332 291141 and we will be delighted to help...

When design was a real skill...

If anyone can remember, before the advent of the Apple Mac, all artwork was done by hand, using technical drawing skills to create logos, artwork and drawings etc. In principle, you had to be able to at least draw and have a some creative/artistic skill to even think about entering the design field. It was a real craft.

One of the tools we used to use was the technical pen. Several brands were available with the market leaders being Rotring and Staedtler.

I tended to favour the Staedtler brand mainly down to the fact that the 0.5 nib seemed to block less oftenthan the Rotring version of the same. While rooting through one of our cupboard here at the studio I found this brand new virtually unused set of pens in the original box!

This brought back memories of having to physically draw keylines for artwork using CS10 board, red film, and of course set squares and technical pens...

With computer aided design and so many application to help with design, it's easy to see how the craft element has been lost over the years...however, here are PE Creative we still believe that crafting a design is one of the key differentiators that we bring to your design.

Anyone can style something up, but not anyone can develop a concept in quite the same way we do.

If you'd like to see how we can help you to diffentiate your brand, give us a call on 01332 291141 and we can discuss your specific needs.
